Who were the Saspers?

Ancient chronicles tell the story of a tribe that lived between 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚 – from the Araks valley to the sources of the Euphrates. They were known as the Saspers, an Ibero-Colchian tribe whose land was called Sispirit in Roman sources and included parts of the Kingdom of Kartli.

The political center of the hashtagSaspers was around 𝐌𝐭𝐬𝐤𝐡𝐞𝐭𝐚-𝐀𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐳𝐢, where they stood as symbols of unity, strength, and freedom. ⚔️

In honor of their heritage, our restaurant is named “𝐒𝐚𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚” – a place where history and tradition come alive on a modern Georgian table. 🍷
